WVU Football – Adds Two
#89 Darien Bryant: Thanks to the Vanderbilt website:
2013 Bryant saw action in three games as a reserve defensive end… Did not register any defense statistics in limited roles against Austin Peay, UMass and UAB.
2012 Saw action in nine games in first season as contributor… Utilized in passing situations as rush end… Enjoyed most action early in season when coaches rotated five DEs… Ended season with pair of tackles, including a quarterback sack in victory over Presbyterian.
2011 Bryant did not play as a true freshman, working as a defensive end and tight end at practice.
High School: Started as TE and DE as a senior at Pickerington North after lettering two years at nearby Reynoldsburg HS… Ranks among top TEs in Ohio… Playing in eight games as a senior, continued 46 total tackles, seven QB sacks, 14 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an INT as DE…
Posted 18 receptions for 248 yards and a TD as TE, helping to lead the Panthers to 6-4 record… Named first team all-conference and honorable mention All-State as senior… Played varsity hockey as sophomore and junior at Reynoldsburg.
Bryant #89 is listed on WVU Roster at being 6’4”, 230 lbs and at TE/FB. I looked for some recent video of him at Vanderbilt but there was none. I chose not post his high school video since he had not played high school football since 2010.
